Certificates

Students pursuing their M.A. in Criminal Justice and Criminology (CJC) are required to complete 5 specific CJC courses and have 5 electives they are allowed to take. These electives can be taken in CJC and other graduate programs, and there are a number of programs that allow students to earn certificates by taking specific classes within those fields. For example, there are formal certificates in Public Affairs & Management, Child & Family Law, Data Science, Geographic Information Systems, and Women’s Studies & Gender Studies. Students who plan to complete a certificate as part of their CJC M.A. studies must also apply to the certificate program, be accepted, and then they may begin taking the certificate-related courses.
