Pedagogy of Justice (POJ) Circles
POJ Circles
The Pedagogy of Justice (POJ) Circles (formerly named Diversity, Equity, & Inclusive Pedagogy [DEIP] Circles) are an informal effort to cultivate anti-racist thought, anti-oppressive action, and equitable pedagogies by providing a private space for Loyola educators (faculty, staff, graduate student instructors) to come together, discuss issues they may encounter in their instructional and pedagogical spaces, and skillshare strategies and tactics to promote equity, navigate difficult situations, and ensure wellbeing in their pedagogical spaces.
The POJ Circles will function as monthly drop-in laboratory spaces for Loyola educators to discuss and practice new strategies and approaches to anti-oppressive pedagogy in a horizontal, non-hierarchal structure. While each session will have a session host, these circles are designed to be group-led and the content will be driven by the needs of the attendees each session.
The AY 2023-2024 POJ Circles will be hosted monthly over Zoom
