Auditions for Music Major

  • Application to the Music Major is a two-part process: an application for admission to the University and application to audition for the major.
  • Auditions are not required for the music minor.

Applied Auditions

  • Applied Lessons is a one-creidt course consisting of individual private lessons, culminating in a juried performance at the end of the semester. There are two categories of applied lessons: MUSC 280: Applied Music is a one-credit course consisting of a thirty-minute lesson each week; MUSC 380: Advanced Applied Music is a one-credit course consisting of a sixty-minute lesson each week. To be considered for MUSC 380, a student must be a Music Major and receive permission from the department.
  • All new students that are not currently receiving applied lessons must submit an audition video with their application.
