Monday, May 10, 2021
- 4:00 p.m. CDT – Baccalaureate Mass
Open to all graduates, families, friends, and the larger community. The Baccalaureate Mass will be available on the LUC Commencement website.
- 5:00 p.m. (Central time) – Evening of Excellence
Parkinson students completing a Master of Public Health and/or Master of Science degree will share their capstone projects, engage in scholarly discourse, and learn from fellow students and faculty. The Evening of Excellence provides an opportunity for students to celebrate their scholarly accomplishments with an interdisciplinary group of faculty and students. Zoom room links will be shared with participating students before the event.
- 6:00 p.m. (Central time) – Main Ceremony
Open to all graduates, families, friends, and the larger community. The LUC Main Ceremony is a formal celebration including the national anthem, invocation, blessing, and degree conferral. Featuring remarks by President Rooney and Provost Norberto. The Main Ceremony is pre- recorded and will be available on the LUC Commencement website.
Tuesday, May 11
- 5:00 p.m. (Central time) – Celebration of the Magis
Open to all graduates, families, friends, and the larger community. Parkinson acknowledges outstanding undergraduate students with its annual Magis Awards. Magis is a Latin word meaning "more" or "greater" and is related to the phrase "ad majorem Dei gloriam," the motto of the Society of Jesus and Loyola University Chicago. The Celebration of the Magis will be held virtually.
- 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. (Central time) – Parkinson Grad Celebration Palooza
Open to all graduates, families, friends, and the larger community. A virtual and very personal celebration of all things YOU! Graduating students, friends and family are welcome to celebrate the achievements of the Parkinson Class of 2021. Emceed by Brad Montgomery, award-winning motivational speaker, students, families, and friends will gather in community during a unique and entertaining virtual celebration.
Wednesday, May 12
- Event available beginning at 8:00 a.m. (Central time) – Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health Commencement
Open to all graduates, families, friends, and the larger community. Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health Commencement includes a congratulatory message from Dean Elaine and the student Commencement Speaker. This formal ceremony includes each graduate’s name read aloud and their individual student-recognition slide with diploma name and academic attributes. Available for viewing on the LUC Commencement website.
