Re-applicant FAQs
How do I know if I am eligible to participate in the re-applicant process?
A Re-applicant is anyone who submitted an application for a previous cycle through AADSAS, AMCAS, AACOMAS, and/or TMDSAS, regardless of whether they have ever received a Committee Letter or Letter Packet from Loyola or any other institution. Regardless of past participation, MAMS and MSMP students and alumni do not participate in the PHPAC process:
- Current students and alumni of the MAMS program should contact MAMS staff at mams@luc.edu or call 773-508-3285.
- Current students and alumni of the MSMP program should contact MSMP staff at msmp@luc.edu or call 708-216-1017.
How is the re-applicant process different from the Committee process?
Re-applicants may utilize resources on Sakai to help them build/re-build their medical/dental school applications, but only first-time applicants are eligible for the full Committee Advisor feedback process. All applicants are responsible for providing supporting information to the PHPAC via Sakai and meeting all deadlines. Re-applicants are held to the same policies and procedures for releasing their re-applicant letter packets as the first-time Pre-Health Professions Advisory Committee applicants.
What is the registration deadline?
Re-Applicant registration will open on March 1, 2024.
Re-Applicant registration closes on April 15, 2024.
Letters of Recommendation deadline will be set and made avilable in Spring 2024. It is STRONGLY recommended that you contact your letter writers well in advance June 1st, 2024.
How do I register/apply for the PHPAC as Re-applicant?

What about letters of recommendation?
All re-applicants who have successfully registered by early summer 2024 will also need to have at least three (3) new letters of recommendation submitted to the PHPAC by the posted deadline. At least two (2) letters must be from faculty, with at least one (1) of those being from science faculty. Up to five (5) recommenders must be submitted to the Pre-Health team in Career Services. Please note that the letter of recommendation request system will become available once you submit your reapplication registration. Note that previous cycle letters will not be included in the packet, therefore you can absolutely ask previous writers to submit new letters; all letters must be dated 2024.
What if I am on a waitlist?
Registering as a re-applicant does not require you to discontinue your current application to health professional school. It is understood that some who register as re-applicants will likely be selected off waitlists and earn admission during the prior (current) cycle. We simply ask that those who had intended on being re-applicants inform us of your subsequent acceptance and change of plans.
How many times can I reapply?
Earning admission to health professional school is highly competitive. It is not uncommon for applicants to have to reapply to health professional school. However, some health professional schools- either formally or informally- discourage a third application. Applicants who applied to health professional school through the Pre-Health Professions Advisory Committee and again through the re-applicant process and wish to apply to the re-applicant process a second time (amounting to three total applications) would need to demonstrate substantial improvement in their candidacy such as completion of a graduate or structured post-baccalaureate program to be allowed to participate in the re-applicant process for a second time.
