About
Roberto Mannino is an Italian-American artist and educator living and working in Rome, Italy. He holds a BFA in Sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design (1980) and an equivalent degree from the Rome Academy of Fine Arts. He teaches drawing and sculpture at the JFRC and contemporary papermaking and figure modeling at Temple University, Rome. He previously taught art studio and advanced drawing at Cornell in Rome (1991-2016) and was Visiting Artist and full-time professor of printmaking and papermaking at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore (2008). His production includes intaglio printmaking, book-arts, relief, and site-specific sculptural installation. He has a comprehensive background in printmaking and has exhibited extensively as a fiber artist. His most prominent work is the permanent Installation Streams (2013) at the Central Institute for Graphics, Palazzo Poli, Sala Dante, Rome. His work is abstract and process-oriented with a sculptural attitude.
