Stones in the pond: Rule of Law for Development students at the JFRC

"Be the stone in the pond and see how your actions can create a significant impact". This was the message that the students of Loyola's Rule of Law for Development program gave JFRC undergraduates on Tuesday evening, 19 February. This LUC program – housed at the JFRC - focuses on tackling critical development challenges around the world and addresses the complex and growing international rule of law and development field.

In his footsteps: 100th anniversary of founder’s birth

September 6th represents what would have been our founder’s 100th birthday. In commemoration of John Felice, the JFRC community commemorated our director emeritus with a ceremony at the Victor Emmanuel II National Monument in Piazza Venezia, Rome.

Producing Italy's green gold

On Friday, October 21, the JFRC community harvested nearly 1,000 pounds of olives which yielded 50 liters “Olio Felice". The annual olive harvest is part of a broader campus initiative for food systems and environmental sustainability education, in response to Pope Francis’ call to be stewards of creation and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Cominciamo in Campania!

The JFRC caravan left Rome on Friday, January 25, and headed down south to Campania for the weekend. While having the old temples of Paestum in their own backyard for the weekend, students also got the chance to tour Certosa Padula monastery, Vini Marino winery and Tenuta Vannulo buffalo mozzarella farm, as well as enjoy stunning views in the little hillside city of Agropoli.
