Mission in Action
I believe in the transformative potential of non-parental adults in the lives of young people. My domestic and international research focuses on adult-youth relationships, such as mentoring, and how they contribute to strength and resilience among young people. I am particularly interested in relationship processes between adults and young people within the child welfare system. I value Loyola's identity as a Jesuit institution; as a teacher, I am committed to using tools of Ignatian Pedagogy to empower students as active and engaged learners.
About
Dr. Pryce’s research focuses on school-based interventions, the role of mentors in the lives of system-involved youth, and program development. Her additional areas of scholarship include the development and study of mentoring programs internationally and the role of social justice in social work curricula. Dr. Pryce teaches in the HBSE and research sequences in the undergraduate, Masters, and doctoral programs.
