What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola?
The incredible working environment created by my mentors above me, by peers beside me, and the students I have the privilege to work with. It is unlike any other.
What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee?
Co-founding and being co-president of the now well renowned Women in Science (WINS) group within the biomedical graduate school at the Health Science Campus. Our mission is to promote and empower women leadership in science. In line with this, we bring 100 middle school girls of low socioeconomic status into our labs for Science Sister's day every year in addition to other outreach programs, seminars, and career advice for our graduate students.
What does Loyola's mission mean to you?
I resonate most with the characteristics of values-based leadership and service that promotes justice when in comes to Loyola's mission and focus on Jesuit education. So, my best days are when I am able find the solution of how to implement the amazing ideas or brainstorming strategies I have with others about our scientific research or better ways to empower women in our WINS meetings.
What motivates you to succeed each and every day?
I am very internally motivated, but I attribute that trait, strength, and motivation to my mother.

I am a crazy plant lady! I have about 100 houseplants in my one bedroom apartment.
