Loyola takes second place in the Bike Commuter Challenge

The Rolling Ramblers logged 229 miles during the 2024 Bike Commuter Challenge.

From May 13 to June 9, Loyola University Chicago participated in the annual Chicago-area Bike Commuter Challenge. The challenge results are in, and we are pleased to announce that Loyola took second place among educational institutions. The Loyola team also placed seventh overall out of 112 participating organizations in Chicago.

The Active Transportation Alliance organizes the bike challenge to encourage people across the Chicago area to explore cycling as a healthy, environmentally friendly form of transportation.  

Over the course of this year’s event, Loyola’s 38 Rolling Ramblers logged an impressive 2,586 miles. Andy Quathamer, a project manager in Facilities Management, was Loyola’s top rider, logging an impressive 229 miles. Carly Roe, a staff member in Advancement, logged the most miles among participants based on the Water Tower Campus.
