Bio

Kaylyn is a recent graduate from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree Social Work with a minor in Psychology. She is currently a Social Work Intern at the Loyola Wellness Centers at the Health Sciences Campus and the Lakeshore Campus, pursuing her Master of Social Work with a focus on advanced clinical counseling and medical social work. Kaylyn is committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all clients, with a holistic approach that’ll in all “help one help themselves”. This holistic-based approach focuses on the overall life of a client, and often goes beyond the issues presented in the moment. Choosing to recognize and identify underlying issues, addressing root causes, and
advocating for change is her target goal for her clients. Her experience encompasses generalist practice, non-profit community engagement and outreach, and substance abuse prevention in teenagers and young adults. Kaylyn values goal setting with clients and has a diverse background working with various populations including work experience in Early Childhood Education and peer mentorship and leadership development. Outside of her professional life, Kaylyn enjoys taking nature walks, cooking, watching medicine TV, and spending time with the youth in her family.
