Civitas ChildLaw Policy Institute
Children and families depend on legal, social welfare, juvenile justice, and health care. Improving these and other systems is a goal of the Civitas ChildLaw Center’s Policy Institute.
The Policy Institute helps underrepresented children and families by:
- Developing and promoting child-centered laws, policies and practices
- Building coalitions and partnerships
- Promoting the increased use of interdisciplinary collaboration
- Using child development principles in fashioning policies relating to children and families.
In addition, the Institute serves as a resource for lawyers, judges, legislators, public officials, child welfare specialists, health professionals, educators, social scientists, and others.
