In addition to university scholarships, the College of Arts and Sciences offers several scholarships for undergraduate students.
Building Bridges Scholarship Awards
The Building Bridges Awards are a scholarship program established by Dean Peter J. Schraeder to help College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) undergraduate students realize their full potential and support their academic experiences, professional aspirations and connections to their communities. Multiple scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded for each category as detailed below.

Building Community Bridges
This scholarship recognizes current Juniors and Seniors from marginalized groups (including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, religion, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and disability) who have a positive impact at Loyola and/or in their communities through their advancement of diversity and inclusion initiatives. Student applicants need to demonstrate how they have had a positive impact at Loyola and/or in other communities through their advancement of diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Building Interdisciplinary Bridges
The Building Interdisciplinary Bridges scholarship supports current Freshman and Sophomores who are pursuing a declared interdisciplinary minor and declared major within CAS. Student applicants must demonstrate how their interdisciplinary minor will enrich their academic training and/or contribute to their future career goals.

Building International Bridges
This scholarship supports current Juniors and Seniors who are studying abroad through the Office of International Programs during either the fall or spring semesters, January-term (J-term), or May - June summer sessions. Student applicants need to demonstrate how study abroad will inform their understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives and how they will apply that knowledge to their academic and professional careers.

Donor Scholarships for New or Transfer Students to the College of Arts and Sciences
Martin J. Svaglic Humanities Scholarship
Martin J. Svaglic Humanities Scholarship - Two $2,500 per year scholarships will be awarded to qualified new freshman or transfer students who have been admitted into one the following areas in the humanities: Art History, Fine and Performing Arts majors, Classical Studies, Dance, English and Creative Writing, Fine and Performing Arts majors, French, History, Italian, Latin, Music, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Spanish, Theatre, Theology and Visual Communications. Prospective candidates must have a minimum 3.8 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale and be admitted prior to February 1 of the application year. Apply and learn more
