2023 DEI Kickoff: Holocaust Museum Visit

Our 2023 office theme “The Power of You” encourages us to reflect on the roles that we play in fostering inclusive excellence. This kickoff event provided faculty and staff to lean into the Jesuit practice of accompaniment, which calls upon us to be a companion, humanize people and walk with them along their journeys.  This opportunity encouraged attendees to better understand, connect with, and support the Jewish community.

Watch a video recap of our section below:

2022 DEI Kickoff: Dr. Robert Livingston

Our 2022 office theme “We Belong” signaled our collective efforts to create a sense of belonging for all at Loyola. This kickoff event featured guest speaker Dr. Robert Livingston, who equipped faculty and staff with tools for successfully navigating DEI conversations. This included The PRESS Model: Problem awareness, Root cause analysis, Empathy, Strategy, Sacrifice.

More information and tools can be found in Robert Livingston's book The Conversation: How Seeking and Speaking the Truth About Racism Can Radically Transform Individuals and Organizations.
