The CARE (Collaboration, Access, Resources, and Equity) Pathway to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing is our investment in the future of nursing. By helping students underrepresented in nursing succeed in college, the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing is helping create a more diverse nursing workforce and ultimately better patient outcomes. 

The CARE Pathway provides academic, financial, and socio-emotional support to BSN students who self-identify as underrepresented in nursing from a social, economic or educational perspective. Our award-winning program has tripled in size since its launch in 2021 with a $2.2 million Health Resources and Services Administration grant, and continues to expand thanks to the generosity of committed donors. 

Faculty Spotlight: Regina Conway-Phillips

Regina Conway-Phillips is a mentor and faculty leader in the CARE Pathway, and an accomplished researcher who studies racial disparities in health care. 

A native of Chicago's South Side, she faced multiple barriers to getting an education. But Loyola saw her potential, and she earned her Master of Science in Nursing and PhD from the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing.
