Recognizing faculty research excellence
The Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing is excited to celebrate three talented faculty who recently secured funding to further their research. Learn more about these recent awards:
Associate Professor Ann Solari-Twadell received a Faculty Development Grant and will spend the 2021-22 academic year enhancing her expertise in health care policy development and leading curriculum development in health policy for Loyola Nursing.
Assistant Professor Monique Ridosh received a National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) K01 Research Career Development Award for her project, “Health Adolescent and Young Adult Self-Management in Spina Bifida.” The NINR grant is designed to support mentored research training for promising faculty pursuing innovative research. In addition to receiving training during the grant to increase her knowledge in statistical methods and family measurement through multi-methods and multi-respondents, Ridosh will identify factors that predict trajectories of self-management among adolescents and young adults with spina bifida. Loyola Clinical Psychology Professor Grayson Holmbeck will serve as Ridosh’s primary mentor for this award.
Assistant Professor Cynthia Paidipati received a Loyola University Chicago Summer Research Stipend for her project, “Young Investigator Suicide Prevention Innovation Grant.” Over the summer, Paidipati will develop a grant application to develop and evaluate a suicide prevention intervention to reduce suicidality among undergraduate nursing students.
