Research Interests
Dr. Solari-Twadell's research activities include community based health promotion and disease prevention nursing research focused on innovative nursing roles. Past research emphasized faith community nursing, the most commonly used and essential nursing interventions along with information related to size of faith community, location of faith community, size of faith community and organizational structure supporting the faith community nurse. More recently, research interests are centered on preparing nursing students to practice in primary care nursing with the underserved. This work and related research projects is funded by a four year Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) grant titled Nursing- Promoting Access to Care (N-PATH). Partners in this grant work include ACCESS Community Network, Hines Veterans Administration and Loyola University Chicago Trinity Network.
