Karen Berg Helfgot, MEd

About

Karen has a B.S. in Public Affairs and Environmental Science from Indiana University. She spent over 15 years working with public health and healthcare non-profit organizations as an organizer, advocate, lobbyist and director. She transitioned into higher education to build on her interest in experiential learning and community-academic partnerships. She graduated from Loyola's Higher Education Masters program with her M.Ed and shortly thereafter joined the School of Nursing as an experiential learning coordinator. She works with faculty and staff to develop and maintain clinical partnerships to support the clinical education of students in all SON programs.

Karen is primarily based on the Lakeshore campus and has the benefit of being next to Lake Michigan. She loves the path that stretches along the east side of the campus and snakes behind Madonna della Strada where there is a beautiful patch of lawn, perfect for taking in the lake.
