Words of advice from Professor Neier Beran
"When in doubt, let's take a Ted Lasso playbook page: Believe," says Stacy Neier Beran, senior Ignatian lecturer at Quinlan.
Stacy Neier Beran, senior Ignatian lecturer, shares encouraging words for Quinlan students as a new academic year begins:
"Our collective return to campus is the best opportunity to practice beginner's mind. A beginner's mind frees us from preconceptions. Instead, beginner's mind carbonates our Ignatian hungers by opening our eyes to see everything as a new experience.
"For our newest Ramblers, campus is a shiny new playground! However, if you've returned to your favorite IC lakeview chair or Schreiber Center social stairs spot, look at the space with refreshed eyes. Milton Glaser famously said, 'We’re always looking, but we never really see.' And, when in doubt, let's take a Ted Lasso playbook page: Believe.
"We hope you had a great start to your school year, Ramblers!"
