FAQs

How do I request a roommate?

Spring Applicants
On your Spring Housing Application, you will have the opportunity to create and/or respond to Roommate Requests. Roommate Requests work similarly to a 'Friend Request' in that requested roommate(s) must respond to an invitation to form a Roommate Group. A Roommate Request is not considered complete unless the invitation has been accepted.

You may form a Roommate Group with any current Loyola student(s), including students who are already living on campus for the academic year or applying for spring. Requested Roommates will receive an email and must accept the invitation for the request to be considered mutual. If the request is mutual and there is available space we will do our best to make sure you are placed there.

My friend is returning from abroad/will be a new student at Loyola? How can I request that they move into my room?

Requested Roommates will receive an email and must accept the invitation for the request to be considered mutual. If the request is mutual and there is an available space in your room we will do our best to make sure your friend is placed there.

I want to live on campus, but only if I can live in a particular building or room type. How can I know what rooms are available when I apply?

We do not publish lists of available rooms, but in past years we have had a wide range of available spaces across campus. When you submit your Spring Housing Application, we will review your preferences. You should only list rooms on your preferences that you want to live in. We will do our best to find a space that best matches your stated preferences, though it cannot be guaranteed.
